On eBay, you may auction off your items or sell your items. In an auction, you allow bidders to bid on your item. The highest bid wins your item (provided it is higher than your reserve price - which is the minimum price you are willing to accept). In a sale, you allow your customers to buy your item at your fixed price using a "buy now button". You may also auction your item plus include a "buy now button". That gives your customers a chance to bid for the item or if they want to buy it immediately, they may do so.

There are 6 simple steps to go through to start selling on eBay (and make some profits)

Step 1:

Open a FREE eBay account. (Takes less than 5 minutes and it's FREE.)

Step 2:

Decide what you're going to sell. (Start with the old stuff in your closets or attic ! Costs nothing, clears the mess and makes you money)

Step 3:
Take a picture of your item. (Make sure the lighting is good!)
Step 4:
Put your item up for auction. (It takes about 10 minutes for a 'newbie' to create a listing!)
Step 5:
Watch the bids -- then collect payment! (This part is FUN... You watch people fight over your item, then collect money from the highest bidder!)
Step 6:
Deliver the items (Postal or courier service do all the heavy work for you plus the customers pay for the delivery)

You may also open up a "Store" on eBay. It gives you a "business identity". Customers who found one of your items during a search on eBay may look at all your available items for sale or auction. Your regular customers will also come back regularly to your store for repeat purchase.

That's it. It's that simple to start selling on eBay.

However, a Powerseller goes beyond that in order to sell consistently. They know the 5 steps to sell successfully (I have intentionally left out a very crucial one from below) :-

  1. How to list the items so that when customers do a search on eBay, their items can be found. There are millions of items listed on eBay. If they can't find you, they can't buy from you.

  2. How to stand out. When the potential customers find you through a search, your items will be listed with thousands of other people's similar products. Powersellers know how to make their items stand out. If no one clicks on your item, no one will buy.

  3. How to convince the customer to buy. If the customer looks at your item but cannot decide whether to bid on your item, then you can't sell the item.

  4. How to get higher bids. If the customer bid on your item but the bids are slow, then your profits are low too. Powersellers know how to increase the bidding frenzy and increase their profits too.

This eBay Powerseller seminar covers the 5 steps to eBay Success System as well as 5 reasons why most sellers fail on Ebay. You definitely want to avoid those mistakes that cost you time & money.
